VPN Services

A VPN is a piece of software that can be downloaded and installed on different types of devices.

VPNs are one of the best tools when it comes to improving your online privacy. This is because having a VPN connection on encrypts your internet traffic. It essentially tricks your device into thinking that you are in a completely different location.

In this section, we are going to take a look at the best VPN services that are available on the market.

NordVPN has gone on to become one of the household names in the VPN industry. And this shouldn’t be strange.

With an easy to use and straightforward user interface, it is one of the easiest to use VPN tools. On top of that, they operate thousands of servers in dozens of different countries. Also, they offer a true no-log policy and work in China.

Cool feature: It is not really a technical feature, but what’s even better is that the company behind NordVPN is  registered in Panama. Panama has no data retention laws and, to the best of our knowledge, Panama doesn’t carry out Internet surveillance. This makes NordVPN truly one of the best VPNs out there.

Official website:

It also boasts thousands of server locations, stronger data encryption and lightning-fast connectivity.

Official website:

Private Search Engines

Google definitely owns the search engine market.

But still, there are a number of different search engines that can be just as good as Google.

Some of them are owned by a giant corporation and some of them are independent.

Let’s take a more detailed look into them.

private search engines

DuckDuckGo is probably the household name in the world of private search engines.

They have been growing consistently over the last few years as more people begin caring about their online privacy and the data they share with Big Tech.

And for a good reason: not only they promise your data won’t be collected but they actually don’t collect it.

Another benefit of DuckDuckGo over Google is that they claim their results are unbiased.

For example, when you search on Google they will show you results that they think you want or would be interested in based on your data profile gathered over time.

So, if you are really concerned about your online privacy then DuckDuckGo is one the must-use platforms.

Official website:

StartPage is a private search engine that is based in the Netherlands.

This search engine is perfect for you if you are looking for an user experience similar to Google with better privacy.

The search engine is monetized by placing advertisements that are not based on personalization and can be disabled if you choose to do so.

Also, the quality of search results is quite good.

Overall, a decent choice.

Official website:

This is another private search engine mostly known for being environmental-friendly and being CO2-neutral. Also, they use the revenue generated via ads to plant more trees.

If you are an environmentally-cautious person then this search engine is for you.

Official website:

SearX is an open-source search engine where everyone can contribute in its’ improvement. The way this search engine works is that it gathers results from other popular search engines and puts them together in one place.

Official website:

Official website:

MetaGer is another alternative search engine. They operate as a non-profit organization and use green energy.

Official website:

Infinity Search has such a strong grip on privacy that it doesn’t even keep records of what the users search for and do not log any information that will allow it to identify the user.

This search engine also uses multiple sources to get results from and also has a sidebar on its results page where users can search for the same search terms on many other websites.

Official website:

Secure Browsers

Your web browser is the key to the Internet. It is an essential tool that allows you to make the most of the Internet.

And being the essential tool that it is you can definitely expect that the mainstream browsers would have plenty of backdoors that will allow the parties with access to these backdoors to monitor your online behavior.

And this is where the privacy-focused browser come in.

In this section we are going to take a look at some of the most popular privacy-focused browsers.

Brave is one of the most well-known browser that focus on privacy.

It is an open-source browser that is built on top of Chromium, which is the open-source version of the Chrome browser.

This means that it will be easy for new users to get used to the browser because of the familiar environment.

Also, blocking trackers is easy when using Brave. This is because Brave comes fully loaded and unlike Chrome it doesn’t force you to decide which plugins and extensions you want to download.

The browser automatically blocks third-party and advertising cookies as well as HTTPS-Everywhere, which ensures that all your connections are secured and encrypted.

Official website:

Epic Privacy Browser

Another popular privacy browser is the Epic Privacy Browser.

This browser is also built on the Chromium platform, so you will also get a similar feeling if you are currently a Chrome user.

It has an active Do Not Track feature, one-click, anonymizing policy, deletes all browsing activity upon exit, has a secure search and protects your privacy at every level.

The downsides are that this browser does not support passwords managers and that some websites appear to be broken.

Official website:

Iridium Browser

The Iridium Browser is also popular choice when it comes to private browsing.

It is also based on the Chromium platform, which again, it means that Chrome users will find it familiar.

The browser adds several security features, which include a longer RSA encryption key and system plugin disabling. Cookies, trackers and DNS prediction is blocked by default.

Also, the browser doesn’t store passwords, addresses, payment data like credit cards, which can be inconvenient to some users but at least this makes it more secure.

Official website:

Firefox Browser

The Firefox Browser is one of the most popular and one of the oldest independent browsers that focus on privacy.

Besides being one of the most secure browsers, it is also one of the fastest.

On top of that, it offers many great features out of the box, as well as an extensive list of addons and vast customization options.

Also, Mozilla, the developer of Firefox, is a non-profit organization, which means that they have little interest in sharing and/or selling your personal data.

Firefox is compatible with most devices and operating systems.

Official website:

Vivaldi is a terrific browser that is almost perfect.

It is one of the most customizable browsers available. Also, it has access to Chrome’s library of extensions. On top of that, it is incredibly well optimized to be light and fast and goes easy on the RAM.

It also offers a number of extra options such as notes, tab stacking, tiling and permanently pinning websites to the sidebar to name a few.

If you care about privacy and security (well, who doesn’t? ) the Vivaldi browser is one of the most popular options for you.

The developers provide frequent updates and do a good job of blocking scammy websites.

Also, very little user data is collected and even offers you a guidance on what to disable if you want the highest security and privacy available.

If we have to force ourselves to come up with a drawback, it will be that the browser doesn’t run on iOS. Although the browser’s creators have said they are working on an iOS version but due to Apple’s incredibly strict requirements this will just take an unknown amount of time.

Official website:

Opera is one of the classic browsers.

It has been around for a long time and although their user base is relatively small, it is very loyal.

It was one of the first browser that offer built-in VPN.

The browser has many strengths, which include lots of great built-in features, Chrome extensions compatibility and fast speeds.

However, since the change of ownership there have been privacy and security concerns.

Nevertheless, it is still a good choice.

Official website:

Safari is Apple’s well-known browser.

The browser has an excellent performance. It runs almost at the speed of light on iOS and can be considered faster than all other browser.

However, on Mac it is not as fast and falls behind other market leaders such as Chrome, Firefox and Vivaldi. The speed is still decent, but not as fast as it could be.

Safari consumes little RAM in contrast to Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers.

Besides the overall great performance, Safari is quite strong at protecting their user privacy.

You can block cookies and trackers through the settings via a simple and straight-forward on/off switch.

Also, unlike other Big Tech companies, Apple has been able to maintain a decent reputation in terms of protecting their users’ privacy.

But unlike other big browsers, it can be said that Safari’s lack of features and the not very good user experience can be quite off-putting to some users who are used to customizations and additional features via add-ons.

Official website:

Tor Browser

Tor Browser is one of the ultimate browsers that focus on privacy.

In fact, Tor is an acronym that stands for The Onion Router, a project developed initially for the US military with the purpose of making their Internet communications more secure.

In its’ more recent history, the browser was being known for being able to access the Silk Road, a dark Web marketplace where you were able to purchase a bunch of very illegal products and services.

Nowadays, the browser is one of the most well-known browsers that focus on improving your online privacy.

Official website:

Password Managers

Passwords are one of the first things that comes to mind when it comes to online security.

However, if you use various online products and services extensively there comes a time when you have dozens of various accounts with many different passwords to remember.

And this is where password managers come into play.

Password managers are very effective and secure tools that handle password remembering for you.

Let’s take a detailed look at some of the best password managers.

password managers

Bitwarden can probably be considered one of the best password managers that is actually free.

This powerful encryption software can generate, store and auto-fill passwords and works on all major devices and browsers including Brave and Tor.

Unforutnately, the free version doesn’t offer some features, but the premium version more than makes up for it.

Even though the free version is more than enough to begin with you should really consider getting the paid one.

The premium subscription will give you a bunch of cool features including password sharing, multifactor authentication, one gigabyte of encrypted storage and more.

However, Bitwarden’s free version will also allow you to exchange login data with other people in a secure way.

Overall, if you are looking for free/cheap password manager with a ton of features then Bitwarden is definitely a must.

Official website:

1Password is another popular password manager.

It allows you to login into your accounts and services you used by simply entering one master password.

The tool works on all major devices and operating systems.

Unfortunately, the tool doesn’t offer a free version but it has a 14-day free trial.

As of this writing, the tool costs $36 a year and comes with 1GB of cloud storage and option two factor authentication through Yubikey for an extra security.

Cool feature: The tool offers the so-called travel mode, which allows you to remove your sensitive data from your device when you travel and then recover it with one easy click when you return. This is really cool for getting through border checks without making your sensitive data vulnerable to the customs agents.

Official website:

Dashlane is an easy to use and a very secure solution that enables you to store your login data.

The app has a free version, which allows you to store up to 50 passwords on just one device.

The downside of this tool is that it was made for advanced users.

Official website:

NordPass is a password management tool that is being developed by NordVPN.

The app offers a very easy-to-use password management solution that enables you to securely store passwords for all of your online accounts.

NordPass offers numerous features including Data Breach Scanner, password health audit, web vault, multifactor authentication and much more.

Unfortunately, the tool is a bit expensive and lacks password inheritance and the free version is not as competitive as the other big names on the market.

Still, it is a highly recommended tool for keeping your passwords secure.

Official website:

RememBear is one of the latest, up and coming password managers available on the market that is being developed by the TunnelBear VPN team.

The first thing you will notice is that the interface is quite cool and fun to use, which makes it stand out from the competition in terms of interface and user experience design.

Onto the things that matter, RememBear has an excellent security that helps with keeping the users’ information secure on their servers.

The downside of the tool is that it doesn’t offer additional features such as encrypted storage, breach monitoring, password sharing and anything else that might be offered by their competitors.

However, the RememBear’s team is trying to brand the tool as a password manager that is easy to use and they seem to be doing their job rather well.

Overall, not a bad tool to use.

Official website:

EnPass is an offline password management tool that works as a desktop application as opposed to the modern online-based tools and applications.

This is a free tool that is completely compatible with Windows, macOS and Linux.

On top of that, there are no limited and restricted features, limits on passwords stored or any other restrictions whatsoever.

Also, the tool has the ability to provide as many vaults as users want. This makes the easy for the users to organize all the logins and other data.

Another cool feature the tool has is the password auditing function.

But what about the downsides?

To begin with, a lot of the features are not very easy to set up and use on a daily basis.

Second, the password sharing feature is not secure since it works via email.

Also, if you want to use EnPass on multiple devices then you will have to subscribe to a third-party cloud platform in order to be able to do backups and sync passwords.

Overall, not a bad tool to use but certainly there are other options that are much better and offer a lot more features.

Official website:

Keeper Password Manager

Keeper promotes themselves as an incredibly secure password management solution that is loaded with features.

But is the product as good as they claim it is?

To begin with, Keeper uses 256-bit AES encryption, which is one of the strongest encryption protocols currently available. They use this protocol for securing login details, important files and other sensitive data and information. Also, Keeper has multi-factor authentication options that include Touch ID and Face ID authentication.

The extra features Keeper offers are the following:

-Password security auditing

-Dark web monitoring

-encrypted messaging

And, of course, a lot more.

On top of this, the tool’s dashboard is extremely easy to use.

Overall, Keeper Password Manager is an excellent security tool, which is very secure, very easy to use and offers a range of useful features.

Official website:

LastPass is one of the well-known password management tools on the market.

The tool matches the capabilities of other premium password managers and is easy to use.

LastPass supports many platforms and browsers.

The tool’s premium version offers a number of cool features such as cross-platform syncing, secure sharing, a password strength report and dark web monitoring.

Other important security features are the two-factor authentication and password inheritance.

However, there are some downsides.

For example,  there are limited syncing options available for free users.

Also, some personal data types can’t be used for form-filling.

There is no U2F available as well.

Official website:

Norton Password Managers

Norton Password Manager is one of the few actually free password management tools in the market and the company that it comes from is mostly known for their antivirus software.

But how exactly does the tool stack up against the competition given that it is completely free to use?

First, Norton Password Manager does a good job at storing your password and other login credentials. Also, the tool gives you some basic data such as displaying warning on weak, duplicate and old passwords that will probably need to be changed.

A cool feature is autochange, which enables you to update the passwords stored in websites with just a single click. This is done by having the tool go through all the steps that you normally do by yourself in order to change a password.

However, this feature is not very reliable according to the tests we performed.

Overall, the tool still does a decent job for being completely free.

Official website:

LogMe Once

LogMe Once is one of the most feature-rich tools available putting other popular password management tools to shame. And yes, this includes tools like Dashlane, which are considered to be one of the best and most feature-packed.

But is this true? Let’s find out.

First, unlike most of the other tools available, LogMe Once offers you a truly unlimited password storage.

Also, the home screen of the app is highly customizable which is quite cool.

Other security features include PhotoLogin, which allows you to login by taking a photo and the app does a photo comparison next.

Of course, there are many more cool features available in the tool, but this section will get too long if we have to cover them here.

Overall, it can be said that although the tool is really feature-rich, but on the other hand, it wants to achieve too much at once.

And this leads to things like a cluttered user interface, sluggish performance and other different issues that come up as a result of the clutter.

Official website:

Password Boss

Password Boss is a secure, feature-loaded and easy to use password management tool.

The tool uses 256-bit AES encryption, which is one of the strongest encryption protocols available and even government agencies and large corporations use it.

Also, another strong advantage of Password Boss is their zero-knowledge policy. This means that even the tool’s creators can’t access your information and data.

Notable features include biometric login, remote data wipe, secure browser and emergency contacts.

These are features that are not offered by most of the leading password management brands.

Official website:

Ad/Pop-Up Blockers

AdBlock Plus is one of the most well-known ad blockers available.

It works with the most popular mobile and desktop browsers.

The tool offers good amount settings and options such as creating additional block lists and custom filters.

Also, there is a whitelisting option available, which means that if a website is in this list the ad blocker will not work on it.

Another cool option is that you are able to customize which ads you can see based on their intrusiveness.

The only downside of this tool is that it works only on browsers.

Official website:

AdBlock is free, open-source pop up blocker.

It is one of the most well-known blockers in the world and is compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, iOS and Android.

In fact, I have never any ads whatsoever when watching YouTube videos. And at one point I even forgot that I have it installed.

Also, the tool gives you the option to block or whitelist only specific websites, which means that you can disable the ads only on certain websites or that only certain websites will be able to show you ads.

Overall, uBlock Origin is a lightweight tool that doesn’t slow down your computer’s performance. On the other hand, it is very customizable tool, which enables you to allow or block ads as per your choice.

Official website:

Privacy Badger

Privacy Badger is an ad blocker that was created by the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

This tool was developed because of the foundation’s concerns about the shady practices of other ad blockers that are available on the market.

Official website:

Encrypted Messaging Apps

Encrypted communication has been constantly increasing in the past few years. This is because encrypted messaging apps can help you boost your privacy.

Using encrypted messaging apps will make it harder for bad actors to eavesdrop on your communication including text and calls. This also includes the apps’ developers themselves.

Some of these apps are being run by corporations while others are independently owned.

And without further ado, here are some of the best private messaging apps.

Signal has to be one of the most popular secure and encrypted messaging apps without a doubt.

And there is a good reason for this.

First, the tool was endorsed by numerous privacy advocates such as Edward Snowden, entrepreneurs like Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey (the founder of Twitter and Square) just to name a few.

Second, the tool uses a state-of-the-art end to end encryption.

And last, but not least, Signal is run as an independent, non-profit organization that is funded by donations and is not part of any of the Big Tech conglomerates.

The tool also has a lot of cool features such as:

- Open-Source protocol

- Self-destructing messages

- Encrypted stickers

- Group chats

- Media Files that can be used only once

And the best part is that the tool is absolutely free and doesn’t run any ads whatsoever.

So, why not give it a go?

Official website:

Threema is yet another private chat app that is proud of the fact that their main principle, the restraint on metadata, are followed through and through.

The team behind the app follows a very strict protocol when it comes to metadata safety. For example, messages are instantly deleted from the app’s servers once they reach their recipient.

And since the connection is encrypted, this means that nobody except the the intended recipient can read a message sent and received via Threema.

The tool is open-source, which means that it is easily audited in order to make sure that the communication is truly encrypted.

In addition, you don’t have to provide a phone number and email address when signing up, which gives an extra boost to your security and privacy.

Official website:

Telegram is another option for those interested in secure and encrypted messaging.

The tool also offers end-to-end encryption (if both parties have Telegram).

Also, there is an option to self-destruct the messages after a certain time.

Another cool feature is the secret chats option that can be switched on from the advanced settings. What this feature does is that it forces the app on the other side to delete the received messages if you choose to do so. This means that you will be able to access the chat only from the device of origin. Which means that if your device is not compromised, so are your chats as well.

Official website:

Wire is another popular secure chat app.

One of the best things about the app is that it has end-to-end encryption as a default and it even stays on for the whole time.

The creators of the app take security so seriously that each new message uses a brand-new encryption key, which greatly reduces the risk of having your encryption keys compromised.

Also, the tool’s source-code is 100% open source and everyone can verify, inspect it and even improve it via GitHub.

In addition, Wire’s team is committed to protecting analytics and usage data and not selling it to third parties. The app is also fully compliant with the tough Switzerland and EU regulations. It is also considered to be the most publicly audited collaborations and communication software available on the market.

Official website:

Viber is one of the most popular messaging apps.

The app offers end-to-end encryption on all platforms.

Even though the app was originally created by an Israeli company, it is nowadays owned and developed by the Japanese giant Rakuten.

It is one of the most feature-loaded messaging apps available.

Viber takes users’ privacy very seriously and offers a number of features around that as well. For example, you will be able to see color-coded lock icon next to conversation and based on the color you will know whether the conversation is encrypted or not.

Also, there are self-destruct Secret Chats available as well as Hidden Chats feature that hides chatrooms on shared devices.

Of course, this is in addition to the mobile messaging feature set that includes text, voice and group messaging that are tied to your phone number.

The app itself and messaging with other Viber users is free, but you will have to pay for calls and messages to non-Viber users.

Official website:

Unlike most of the messaging apps mentioned above, Voxer takes a bit different approach and is more of a voice-oriented messaging app as opposed to text messaging.

The app allows users to send voice messages in a walkie-talkie style or other push-to-talk devices.

Users have the ability to listen to messages live within the app or play back messages similar to voice mails later on.

Of course, the app can send and receive text, photos, videos and location messages.

Private And Secure Email Providers

Email is one of the oldest communication technologies and can really be considered ancient especially if you compare it to some of the modern communication methods available.

However, it is definitely the most-used communication method online with around 4 billion users.

And you can be sure that such a massive amount of users there will an endless amount of different email services.

But how would you know which email services are worth it when there are so many? Well, I personally researched dozens of apps in order to vet out the best ones.

Here they are.

What to look for in an email service

There are several things you need to look for if you are in the market for a secure email provider.

First, you need to look out if the provider offers a true no-log policy.

Second, you have to see where their servers are located.

Third, you need to check if the service provider uses a true end-to-end encryption.

Next, check if there are things like zero-access guarantee and two-factor authentication.

Also, check to see if PGP encryption is also offered. This type of encryption allows the email communications to be more secured and private when they happen over insecure networks.

Of course, there are a lot more details to look into it, but here are the best secure email services that are available right now.

Proton Mail

Proton Mail is probably one of the most well-known secure email providers.

The service was started back in 2013 and is being developed by former CERN scientists.

Also, they are based in Switzerland, which is extremely privacy-friendly and has very strict privacy laws and regulations.

Proton Mail is an open-source service and follows a strict no-log policy. Also, they use an end-to-end encryption. In fact, the end-to-end encryption even works when you send emails to someone who doesn’t use Proton Mail.

Unfortunately, the email service doesn’t have a desktop client, but instead works as a web-based client that works on all of the popular browsers.  There are also apps available for iOS and Android as well.

And a quick cool fact about Proton Mail: their server are held deep underground in a nuclear bunker that is more than three thousand feet below the surface.

Quick note: In September 2021, there were some concerns about how Proton handled the situation after Swiss authorities ordered the company to log the IP address of a French activist who was using the online service. But overall, Proton can still be considered a safe email provider especially if you use it together with a VPN or the onion network (TOR).

Also, here is Proton’s official statement on the matter if you would like to check it out.

Official website:

Startmail is developed by the team behind, a privacy-based search engine that doesn’t track any of your data. And the same applies to Startmail.

This means that Startmail is one of the most secure email services available.

It relies on PGP, which means you will be able to safely communicate with other users who have enabled PGP.

However, PGP only implemented on the server-side. This means that this isn’t a true end-to-end that other secure email providers like to show off.

Also, two-factor authentication is available as well, which adds a further protection to your email communications.

A cool feature Startmail offers is the burner emails. This helps when you want to sign up for an account somewhere, but you don’t want to clutter your primary inbox.

Unfortunately, Startmail doesn’t offer a dedicated mobile app. However, the primary website is completely responsive and works well on the most popular smartphones and tablets.

Posteo is Germany-based secure email service that focuses on both individuals and companies.

The product uses several encryption methods that protect your emails while they are in transition. These include TLS with Perfect Forward Secrecy, HTTP Strict Transport Security HSTS, SSH and others.

Also, you will have to be aware that encryption isn’t enabled by default but you will easily be able to set it up via the extra Mailvelope app. It’s open-source app, which is that you are not trusting your data to an unknown developer.  In addition, you can use the app to add PGP, which is the best way to really secure your emails, but this only works if both parties use PGP.

Posteo offers a number of features that will bring out the envy of their competitors. First, they offer support for POP, SMTP and the IMAP protocols. This means that you can retrieve your emails via an app you are comfortable using. For extra safety, the mailbox can also be encrypted but if you loose your password you might as well consider it gone. This is because not even the customer support can decrypt your mailbox so you have to be careful.

In addition, the app is audited by Cure53, which is a security company with a very good reputation.

Despite all the great features, there is still one major downside of the app and it is that it doesn’t offer a desktop or mobile app and it is entirely browser-based. This can be a problem for some users because of how some mobile browsers might crop the window and it can be harder to read the emails if your screen size is not suitable.

Another downside is that there is no live chat or ticket system available.

But overall, it is a decent email app with some of the best security features that are available on the market.

Official website:

TutaNota is an open-source, end-to-end secure email provider that boasts more than two million users.

But is this app so popular? Well, one of the reasons is that it is available in GitHub under the GPL v3 license.

One of the other primary reasons for the app’s popularity is that it implements AES and RSA unlike some other email apps which rely on PGP encryption. For extra security, TutaNota also encrypts the names of the sender and receiver as well as the subject line, which is quite cool and provides extra security.

Also, two-factor authentication is also available and the users have a choice between TOTP and U2F.

You can really tell that TutaNota’s developers take privacy seriously. For example, IP addresses and emails are deleted from the heading metadata in order to provide you with extra security. Also, the company’s no-log policy is very strict. However, given that they are from Germany and given that the country is a member of the Fourteen Eyes Alliance you better take their privacy promises with a grain of salt.

Unlike some of the rest email providers mentioned here, TutaNota has a web-based platform as well as applications for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. They are free of ads, very easy to use and also come with an encrypted calendar.

In addition, the company provides you with custom domains, 1GB of storage, 5 aliases and an email support at the cost of only a dollar per month. And if you want to increase your storage space to 10GB this will cost you just an additional dollar.

All in all, this is a great tool with very good security practices, affordable prices and good features.

Official website:

Thexyz is a little-known email provider in Canada. The service has existed for around 13 years however only about 40 000 accounts have been created, which is very few when compared to the time span. Of course, this doesn’t mean that the service is bad.

In fact, it can be said that it is one of the safest alternatives to some of the more popular brands.

The tool is ad-free and is highly committed to keeping your emails secure. For example, the spam is very effectively kept out of your inbox thanks to the number of different filters that are implemented.

Also, if you visit the tool’s website, you will be able to see a chart that shows how many threats were blocked by sender monitoring and analysis systems such as Cloudmark or Message Sniffer. This is possible thanks to the proprietary filters that help with reducing the overall amount of spam message.

Although Thexyz is a Canadian-based service and Canada is a member Five Eyes intelligence alliance, there are still some security practices that are put in place by the app’s developers. For instance, each email supports all encrypted ports for email exchanges and each sent email won’t display your IP address.

In addition, if you want even better security, the app supports IMAP, POP and OpenPGP as well, which is a public key end-to-end encryption. This can be configured using addons like Mailvelope. In addition, there is also SSL/TSL put in place that makes sure the email content won’t be altered or intercepted when in transit.

There is also an easy migration tool available if you want to transfer data between mailboxes. It works with Office 365, Gmail and others. Also, this is helpful if you want to sync not just messages but calendars, contacts and notes.

Overall, this is a decent encrypted email service. There is no free version, but the prices start from just $2.95 per month that gets you 25GB of total storage and a 50MB capacity for attachments. But of course, you can always upgrade to a higher plan if you need more storage.

Official website: is a secure email service provider that is based in Germany. Unlike most apps mentioned here, this email service is mostly aimed at business clients.

The app has a very friendly user interface and it is also compatible with mobile devices and third-party clients.

Also, doesn’t just offer email service. It is a full suite that includes encrypted cloud storage, video conferencing features, an address book, a calendar and a task planner.

All in all, it is a well-loaded product that aims to give businesses a proper alternative to Google and Microsoft.

Besides the encrypted email service, Zoho offers a calendar, task manager and a contact directory.

When it comes to security, Zoho offers an encrypted environment no matter if you use it on desktop or mobile.

Although Zoho is encrypted, the data can still be accessed by the company and also can be requested from governments. However, there are very strict protocols that are put in place to prevent misuse as best possible.

Official website:

Unlike most of the providers mentioned here, PrivateMail has their servers in the United States. This means that the company is subject to certain laws and regulations. Therefore, the company doesn’t offer the same amount of privacy as the rest of their competitors mentioned here.

To compensate, the provider offers end-to-end encryption and secure cloud storage.

Also, the company applies some really strong security practices.

As mentioned above, PrivateMail offers a very secure cloud storage service, which is included in all of their plans. The best part is that the cloud storage is loaded with features. For example, you will have the option to synchronize files between different devices and with a specific folder on your computer. Also, email calendar is included in the offering as well.

Overall, the service is not bad at all, but given the jurisdiction they fall under you might better off somewhere else.

Official website:

SecureMyMail is a service that is a bit different than the rest mentioned here.

They offer zero-knowledge end-to-end encryption and encryption-at-rest for any email address.

This means that you keep your email address.

Also, the advanced security options will excite experienced users.
